Biography

Dwayne David Davis was born April 20, 1978 in Kansas City, Missouri to Donna I. and Doyle D. Davis. He passed away April 22, 2008 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 30 years and 2 days. Dwayne graduated from Ray-Pec High School, Raymore, Missouri and entered the United States Army where he served his country. He served in Kosovo, Afghanistan and two tours in Iraq. While serving he received many commendations and medals that included the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal and the Iraq Campaign Medal. He also received his Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge and Air Assault Badge. After his discharge he was married to Cara Cape at Elk City, Oklahoma on June 15, 2007 and they made their home in Elk City where he was currently working for Unit Drilling. He is survived by his wife, Cara, of the home; his mother, Donna Davis, Raytown, Missouri; father, Doyle Davis, Lincoln, Missouri; brother, Nick Davis, Raytown, Missouri; grandparents, Ethel and Kenneth Cornell, Belton, Missouri, Eleanor and Jim Poindexter, Belton, Missouri and Benny Davis, Lincoln, Missouri; great grandmother, Dorothy Short, Lincoln, Missouri; step daughter, Brandi Davis, Elk City, Oklahoma, step son, Justen Davis, Mustang, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Cameron Davis, Elk City, Oklahoma; daughter, Kailyn C. Davis, Russellville, Kentucky; aunt, Sherri Davis, Gravious Mills, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends

Visitation will be at Whinery-Savage on Saturday, April 26 from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. Interment will be Tuesday, April 29, in the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
