Life Legacy

Robert, "Bob" Hoover was born October 17, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to Fern Virginia Churchman and Herbert Adam Hoover. He passed away in his home October 14, 2010 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 27 days.

Bob grew up in Dumas, Texas. He mainly lived in the Texas Panhandle and western Oklahoma working in the petroleum industry and as an iron worker. He moved to Sayre in 2002 to make his home. His hero’s were always his mother and grandfather. Bob lived his life one day at a time as if there was no tomorrow. He was a beloved grandfather living through the eyes of his grandchildren. He also really loved fishing; spending time with his family, and the Sunday night country music oldies on 96.5 KECO. Anyone that knew Bob would say that arguing was one of his strong points. Bob always knew that the greatest thing a person could ever leave behind was their legacy through family. That is what Bob lived for. His grandchildren knew him, as "Pappy", their eyes would light up every time they saw him. He will be deeply missed, but always remembered by the people whose lives he had touched through friendship.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his son, Bodie Hoover and wife, Meleah, Sayre, OK; 3 daughters, Elisha Trissell, Cheyenne, OK, Charlotte Trissell, Oklahoma City, OK and Angela Baron, Warren, PA; his mother, Fern Churchman, Austin, TX; 1 brother, Danny Hoover, Amarillo, TX; 1 sister, Carol Haseloff, Austin; 8 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
