Biography

Mona Lou Nalley, 77, of Goodman, Missouri departed this life on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Freeman Hospital in Neosho, Missouri after a recent decline in health.

Mona Entered this life on February 19, 1936 in Stella, Missouri born to the union of the late Raymond and Zelma (Long) Depriest. She was raised in the McNatt Community in rural McDonald County and was a graduate of Stella High School. On February 1, 1959 in Miami, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to Clarence Olin Nalley and together they shared forty-nine years before his passing on May 28, 2008. Besides being a devoted homemaker, Mona had previously worked for Hudson Foods, National Garment and Emerson Electric. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and loved giving those handmade items to her family and friends. She was a member of McNatt Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Nalley; two grandsons, Aaron and Jared Nalley; and one brother, Ronnie Depriest.

Mona is survived by her children, Mike Nalley of Goodman, Missouri, Randy Nalley of Richards, Missouri, Reggie Nalley and Rocky Nalley both of Ft. Scott, Kansas, Rhonda Noyes of Kansas City, Kansas, Gayla Penland of the state of Georgia and Steven Nalley of Parsons, Kansas; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Ancel Depriest of Odessa, Missouri, Gary Depriest of Goodman, Missouri and Denny Depriest of Anderson, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Nalley are 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Union Cemetery near Stella, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Gary Depriest, Denny Depriest, Jason Depriest, Kent Depriest, Rick Conness, Jr. and Anthony Nalley. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until 1:40 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
