Joseph W. McGee

July 7, 1985 - November 27, 2008

Joseph W. McGee, 23, of Worcester passed away suddenly Thursday November 27, from complications with diabetes. He leaves his mother, Theresa (Kwiatkowski) Conte-McGee, his brother Anthony J. Conte and his wife Francesca, his sister Karin M. Conte and her partner Diedra Finney, his grandparents Joseph W. and Theresa (Ritacco) Kwiatkowski, his “Bestest” friend Jen Swindell, his two nieces Mia and Gabriella Conte, and his nephew Alessandro Conte whom he absolutely adored; his aunt and godmother MaryAnn Ritacco and her husband Gianfranco, his godfather William Ritacco, Jr, and several aunts uncles and cousins.

Joey was born in Worcester, July 7,1985. He was the son of the late Joseph J. McGee. He attended North High School. After leaving High School, he decided the best thing to do was to write – and as most people would agree - it worked out for him. His published works include “In The Wake Of The Night”, “Phil’s Place”, “Darkness Won’t Rest: Phil’s Place ll”, “The Sound Of Horror”, “Tripartite”, “The Reaper” & “Snow Hill”. He’s been nominated for the 2009 Bram Stoker Award. He was also a member of the New England Horror Writers Association and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Worcester, Aerie #4311. He was also co- owner of J&J Security & Patrol Services. In addition to writing Joey loved Christmas, the Boston Celtics and country music. He was a quiet giant with a mountain for a heart who left us better than he found us.

Joey’s funeral will be held Wednesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in Our Lady Of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8PM. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: The Robert W. Hansen Diabetes Fund c/o The Fraternal Order Of Eagles, 53-55 Norfolk St. Worcester, MA 01604.
