Biography

Steve B. Greco Sr., 89 of Watervliet passed away Thursday, March 31, at Park Place Assisted Living in Kalamazoo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Monday, April 4, at St Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 pm with the Rosary at 5:30 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Donations in memory of Steve may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan or to the Ark Shelter for Homeless Youth in Kalamazoo. Steve was born Sept 16, 1921 in Coloma to Dominick and Rosalie (Gagliano) Greco Sr. He served in the Army during WWII and retired in 1981 from Auto Specialties after over 30 years of service. He loved his family and really enjoyed gardening and making wine. He was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 4055.

Survivors include two sons Steve Greco Jr of Naples, FL, Richard (Alicia) Greco of El Paso, TX; a daughter Gloria (Joseph) Spoerl of Kalamazoo; a daughter-in-law Susan Greco of St Joseph; three brothers Joseph and Dominick Greco Jr. of Coloma, Tony Greco of Watervliet; five sisters, Josephine Falcone of Chicago, Mary Hermann of Coloma, Pat Ambrose of Petoskey, MI, Cathy Ruggio of Hartford and Rosalee Greco of Valparaiso, IN. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Steve Greco III, Karla (Robert) Campbell, Richard and Matthew Greco, and Lindsay and Abby Spoerl; three great grandchildren, Lydia Dorscht, Hayden and Hudson Campbell; several nieces and nephews, and his canine companion “Jeep”.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife Jennie in 2007 and a sister Neva.
