Our beloved son, brother, husband, father, papa, uncle and teacher, Peter D. Adamini, 64, Green Bay, died peacefully at his home on Friday, July 6, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Ishpeming, MI on November 29, 1962 to the late Frank and Lois (Perala) Adamini.
Peter married his one true love, the former Judy Ann Dahlstrom. He was a 1960 graduate of Negaunee High School and earned his Bachelors and Masters Degree from Northern Michigan University. While teaching at Escanaba High School for 17 years, Peter received the Outstanding Young Educator Award and the State of Michigan Drama Teacher of the Year Award.
He was a "Shining Star" with the Players de Noc Community Theatre Group and was instrumental in the formation of the Bonifas Fine Art Center in Escanaba and was an active member of the Green Bay Philatelic Society.
Peter was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed singing in the Men's Choir, the Chancel Choir and also performing in the annual Madrigal Dinner.
Peter was an avid fisherman and gardener who spent many hours enjoying the outdoors. The other great joy in Peter's life was spending time with his grandchildren.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ann; two sons, Chris (Irene) Adamini and their children, Frank and Paige, Shelby Twp, MI; David (Jennifer) Adamini and their children, Madison and Allison, Gladstone, MI; a daughter, Stephanie (Brian) Hodek, and their children, Hannah, Haley and Sophia, Portage, MI.
Peter is further survived by, two brothers, Stephen (Linda) Adamini, Marquette, MI; Thomas (Janice) Adamini, Apple Valley, MN; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Anna Margaret Dahlstrom; brothers-in-law, Ted (Julie) Dahlstrom; Dan (Diane) Dahlstrom; sisters-in-law, Christie (Richard) Salo; Barbara (Dennis) Filizetti.
Also surviving are a former student teacher and friend, Kenneth Long and many devoted former students and dear friends.
Pallbearers for Peter's service will be his nieces, Gina Pepin, Nikki Racine, Amanda Adamini; nephews, Thomas Salo, Erik Dahlstrom and Stephen Adamini, Jr.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a scholarship has been established in Peter's honor.
Gathering time with family and friends will be Monday, July 9, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison, from 3:00 pm until the Funeral Service at 6:00 pm with Reverend Larry Lange officiating.
Peter's family would like to thank Dr. Bayer, the oncology staff, Unity Hospice, Pastor Larry Lange, Pastor Julie Wrubbel-Lange, and Pastor Jen Lapinskas for their loving care and guidance.
"It didn't matter what he did....teaching, the theatre, as a sales manager, an executive, or even a stamp dealer, he always found a way to make other people excel."
