Mr. Fulton Cheek Norvell, of Peachtree City, GA, passed away on December 25, 2011 at the age of 83. Mr. Norvell was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He was a graduate of Christ School Episcopalian Boys School in Asheville, NC, and had made plans to enroll at Georgia Tech but decided to enlist in the Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. It was there that he received his training to become a helicopter pilot and served in Kodiak, AK, the Carolinas, and in San Diego, CA before retiring with 20 years of service. Following his retirement he pursued a career with Delta Air Lines working as a mechanic then later in Pilot Ground Training before his retirement with 20 years of service. He loved to travel but also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was snow skiing into his 80’s. He is survived by his daughters, Amy Stringer of Bethlehem, GA, Pamela Norvell of Sarasota, FL; brother David Norvell of Monroe, GA; four grandchildren and two nieces.
A Memorial Service is planned for Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
