Biography

Helen M. Heindl, age 95, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at her home with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Athens on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Athens.

Helen was born September 24, 1916 to Frank and Mary (Gribbon) Ranft in Boise, Idaho. She received her education and graduated from Garden Valley High School in Garden Valley, Idaho. Helen was united in marriage to Lawrence Heindl on October 14, 1936 in Boise. Helen and Lawrence moved to Wisconsin in 1945 and raised their family in Athens.

Helen was a Member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Athens. She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed crafting and gardening. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Helen is lovingly survived by her children: Frank (Dolores) Heindl of Zenda, WI, Mary Ann (Lloyd) Uttecht of Wausau, WI, and Larry (Cindy) Heindl of Delevan, WI; her grandchildren: Deborah (Charlie) Handel, Patrick (Heidi) Heindl, Steve Heindl, and Susan (Donald) Kautz; Brian Uttecht and Randy (Christina) Uttecht; and Robert Heindl and Stephanie (Shawn) Klug. She is further survived by her great grandchildren: Evan Handel, Cody Heindl, Katherine Uttecht, Alexis Uttecht, and Alaina Uttecht.


Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence, her five brothers, and eight sisters.
