Clyde Franklin Corriher Sr., a loving kind father, grandfather, brother and husband, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family.Mr. Corriher, 81 years old, was born July 31, 1925 at his family home in Rowan county to the late Harvey Franklin and Cora Overcash Corriher. A graduate of North Carolina State University, he was a US Army veteran of World War II, an assistant county agent in Watauga and Surry counties and a dairy farmer. Mr. Corriher also was employed as a rural mail carrier for twenty-five years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry P. Corriher and son-in-law, Pat Hall.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Patricia Mayhew Corriher; sons C. Franklin Corriher (Wanda), Craig S.Corriher (Lori) of China Grove and Scott O Corriher (Mary) of Salisbury; daughter Susan C. Hall of Boone; brothers Stanley, James and Joe Corriher, all of China Grove; sisters Helen Harrison of Salisbury, Mabel Riggsbee of Carrboro and Pauline McLaughlin of Raleigh; thirteen grandchildren and two grandchildren-in-laws.
Service: 4 PM Friday at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ conducted by Rev. William Campbell, pastor. Interment will follow in Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation: 2-3:45 PM Friday at the church.
