Roman J. "Bud" Babione

Roman J. "Bud" Babione, 92, of Fremont died Saturday, surrounded by his family, at Countryside Continuing Care in Fremont. He was born December 4, 1915 in Fremont to Roman J. and Josephine (Tracey) Babione.
He was a 1934 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and entered the Navy in 1943. Bud married Olive Lease on July 20, 1946 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Rectory. He was employed by the Howard Zink Corp. as a salesman covering the states of Kansas and Nebraska and later the state of Michigan. He then worked for the HJ Heinz Co., retiring in 1977. He was a former member of the American Legion in McPherson, KS, a member of the Elks Lodge in Hastings, MI, and a member of the North Bay Gun Club. During WWII, he was part of the Sea Bees 12th Special Battalion in the South Pacific. He enjoyed athletics and hunting.
Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Olive Babione of Fremont, children, Belinda Cytlak of Toledo, Mary (Carl) Fisher of Fostoria and daughter-in-law, Sue (Mike) Bender of Culbert, WA. Seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Lt.j.g. John R. Babione, brother, Thomas Babione, and sisters, Agnes Millott and Ann (Doll) Campbell.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St, Fremont
Funeral Services will be Thursday 11:00AM at the funeral home
Burial: Will follow at McPherson Cemetery in Clyde,Ohio
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association or the Delta Waterfowl Association, c/o the funeral home
