Hilda E. Hoelzle, 101, of Fremont, died Wednesday evening at Rutherford House. She was born March 9, 1909 the daughter of Edward and Anna (Hohmann) Hoelzle. Hilda was a 1927 Graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. She was employed by the former Liberty Banking Company from 1927 –1942. In 1943, she joined the Fremont Savings Bank until her retirement as Assistant Cashier in 1974. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was active in the Marian Society, Rosary Society and the Blessed Sacrament Confraternity. She also held memberships with the Daughters of Isabella, Fremont Federation of Women and the St. Francis Senior Guild. Hilda worked for the Sandusky County Board of Elections from 1976 – 1990 and volunteered her time at St. Joseph’s Cafeteria and the former Quality Care Nursing Center. She was an avid traveler, enjoyed flowers, reading and cards. Surviving is her sister, Norma Ochs, of Port Clinton, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Marguerite Hoelzle, Marie Sherman; and brother, Donald Hoelzle. In accordance with Hilda’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Mass of Resurrection will begin at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 20, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. David Bruning officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
