Biography

Myrtle M. Ackerman, 83, of Fremont died Wednesday at Bethesda Care Center. Myrtle was born December 29, 1926 in Fremont to the late Charles and Maggie (Wise) Hausman. She married Kenneth Ackerman on September 20, 1947 in Fremont. She worked as a cook for Otis School for 22 years. She was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the World War II Memorial Society. She enjoyed baking and being outdoors in her bare feet. She especially loved her family, being a loving wife, mother and sister.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Ackerman of Fremont; son, Kevin Ackerman of Marion; daughter, Cynthia Ackerman of Fremont; brother, Willis Hausman of Fremont; sisters, Irma Beckley of Fremont, Rita (Robert) Justi of Monroeville, Lois Williams of Bettesville, Alice Laure of Florida, and Inez (Cal) Smith of Fremont. She is preceded in death by parents; sister, Margaret Cochey; brothers, Ralph, Cliff, Eldred “Bill”, and Donald Hausman.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8PM at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St, Fremont. Funeral services will be Monday at 11AM at the funeral home with Pastor James Avers officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
