John C Hensley
February 21, 1938 - October 4, 2009
John Hensley, 71, of Fremont, passed away peacefully Sunday evening at St. Francis in Green Springs. He was born to Charles W. and Genevieve M. (Burkett) Hensley on February 21, 1938 in Fremont. He was a 1956 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, where he lettered in swimming. John was an Arial Photographer for the U. S. Navy stationed in Guantanamo Bay from 1956-1960. He worked at Gray Drug Store Camera Department, Buckeye Mart Camera Department, and Grants Department Store. In 1976 he entered into the electrical trade with Burkett Industries from which he retired in 2000. An avid Scout Master with Boy Scouts Troop 405, he made two trips to Philmont Boy Scout Camp in New Mexico; one for leadership training and another as Trek Leader. In May of 1984 he married Tracy Gangwer. John enjoyed camping, collecting Lionel Trains, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his parents Charles and Genevieve Hensley of Fremont, wife Tracy Hensley of Fremont, sons: Jay (Theresa) Hensley, Doug (Michelle) Gangwer, brother, William (Gerrie) Hensley; grandchildren: Erin Hensley, Mandy Hensley, Jackson Gangwer, Lauren Gangwer. He was preceded in death by a son, Barry Hensley and a grandson, Jason Hensley.


Visitation: will take place Thursday from 2-4 and 5-8P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH.
Funeral Services: will begin at 11:00A.M. on Friday at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason
Burial: Private
Memorial Contributions: may be made to the American Cancer Society, First Presbyterian Church or the donor’s choice.
