Richard Haslinger, 86, of Fremont died Thursday afternoon at Elmwood Assisted Living. He was born May 31, 1923 in Fremont the son of Anthony and Edna (Rectenwald) Haslinger. Richard was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and was a veteran of the Army. On March 2,1946 he married Wanda Moneghan at St. Joseph’s Church in Fremont. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2006. Richard worked for forty years as a grocer for A & P and Foodtown. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Eagles REAC, delivered mobile meals for the hospital and was active at the YMCA and Share & Care.
Surviving are his children: daughters Donna (Bill) Baker of Fremont, Claudia (Jim) Weeks of Oregon, OH, Martha (Pete)Vaffis of Fremont, a son Kevin Haslinger of Chicago, IL, grandchildren, Jamie (Amy) Weeks, Jenny (Jeff) McNair, Chad (Kelly) Baker and Renee (Scott) McNair, great-grandchildren, J.J. Mercurio, Alex McNair, Austin Baker, Nick McNair, Ethan McNair, Kyle McNair, Devin McNair. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings: Rosalyn Stotz, Anna Marie Jay, Bernard Haslinger and Maynard Haslinger.
Visitation: will take place Sunday from 2 to 7 P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, with Eagles’ services at 5P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial: will take place Monday at 11:30 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Lill officiating.
Burial: will be private
