Denis Michael Coan
July 8, 1938 - June 23, 2011
Denis Michael Coan, 72 of Westminster, died on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at his residence after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Born July 8, 1938 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Patrick John Coan and Christine Elizabeth Gates Coan. He was the husband of Chary Gow Coan.

He attended Ohio State University and Youngstown State University.

He served in the US Marine Corps from 1961-1965, and was
a member of the Manchester Vol. Fire Dept. and the Pleasant Hill Vol. Fire Dept. He retired as an intelligence communications analyst for NSA.

He loved his cats, Sasha & Minnie and enjoyed tinkering with clocks and watch repair.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Michael A. Coan and his fiancee Michelle A. Schudel of Westminster, and Dennis C. Coan and his fiancee Gabriel Finger of Germany, daughter, Linda C O'Kresik and her husband Daryl B. O'Kresik of Bangor, ME, sister, Patricia A. Williot and husband Gene L. of Brookfield, OH; and grand children Michelle C. and Lauren E. Coan, Christina and Sarah Finger and Ava and Evan O'Kresik. He is also survived by best friends Al and Barbara Schreiber.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Manchester Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 416, Manchester, MD 21102; or to the Pleasant Hill Vol. Fire Dept., 2941 Baltimore Pike, Hanover, PA 17331.

Services and interment will be in Hermitage, PA. at a later date.
