Betty Jean Winborne-Plummer, 69, of Hampstead, Maryland died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Maryland.
Born December 29, 1938 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Paul Sr. and Thelma Irene Maynard Barefoot.
She had been a writer for the National Security Agency.
She was a member of Cedarhurst Unitarian Universalist Church in Finksburg, Maryland.
Surviving are a daughter, Melinda R. Loftus Traino of Hampstead, Maryland; a son, Harry C. Loftus, III of Plano, Texas; a sister, Shirley Zolenski of Reston, Virginia; a brother, Paul Barefoot, Jr. of Southport, North Carolina; and a granddaughter, Alexandra Marie Loftus of Plano, Texas.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Marie Loftus.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Cedarhurst Unitarian Universalist Church, 2912 Club House Road in Finksburg, Maryland.
Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008, at Eline Funeral Home located at 934 South Main Street in Hampstead, Maryland.
