Life Legacy

Mr. Randall “Randy” Louis Infinger, Jr. age 49, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014. He was born November 17, 1964 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Randall Louis Infinger, Sr. and Annette McCollough Infinger.

Mr. Infinger was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs. He graduated from Walton Senior High School in 1982, Okaloosa Walton Junior College in 1987, and the University of West Florida in 1989. He was a beloved teacher and coach at Paxton High School for 25 years making a difference in the lives of many. Over the years he served as the head middle school boys baseball and basketball coach. He was also an assistant coach for the high school boys’ basketball and baseball teams, winning numerous titles, including four district basketball championships. Two years ago, Randy added the title of assistant high school girls’ basketball coach to his resume. He was so proud to be a part of their recent state championship. At the time of his death, he was carrying his state championship medallion in his pocket to give to his precious daughter, Gillian.

Mr. Infinger is survived by his parents Randall Louis Infinger, Sr. and Annette McCollough Infinger, his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 24 years, Sarah Infinger, two daughters, Alexandra Laird and husband Dylan Laird, Gillian Infinger, a sophomore at Troy University, one sister, Dana Kay Evans and husband Joe Evans all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Ethelyn Adkison, Carolyn Bludworth (Jack), Nell Bulger, Robert Infinger (Sandra), Anne Sutton (Billy Wayne), Ricky Infinger (Andrea), and Ralph Infinger, his mother-n-law, Betty Andrews and his brother and sister-n-laws, Robert Andrews (Crystal), Sharie Smith (Thomas), and Rodney Andrews, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation services will be held 6:00~8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs; 216 East Live Oak Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs with Dr. Bobby Tucker officiating.

Burial will follow at Cluster Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Pannell, Chuck Stevenson, Joe Dan Trotman, Jeff Bradley, Steve Williams, Ralph Laird, Drew Geoghagan, Dustin Geoghagan, and Dan Geoghagan

Honorary pallbearers will be all present and former boys and girls Paxton players.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. Donations are also being accepted at the Walton County Teacher’s Credit Union for the Randy Infinger Scholarship Fund and/or donations can be made to the Paxton Booster Club at Paxton High School in Randy’s name.

The family requests that all current and former Paxton players wear school colors.
